We couldn't have picked a better spot to spend Labor Day Weekend. Here we are at Morro Bay and had gorgeous weather. It didn't get higher than 75 and no lower than 60. We camped on the beach with 3 other families and the trick was not to get sand in the tent. Hahaha, I wish ,no hope with two active little boys. We hung out at the beach all day and unlike any LA beaches they weren't crowded and then we enjoyed the best camping food ever. We had 3 dutch ovens and our amazing 3 burner propane stove with Chef Chris Roberts there to conduct activity we had a delicious feast at every meal. Each family took a meal to cook, but Chris was at each of their sides (with their request) to teach them how to cook amazing food, camping. I am almost drooling right now just thinking about the food. Now I can point the finger at Chris and blame him for me gaining 5lbs. this weekend. I never like to put the blame on myself.
I am only sad I don't have pictures of Chris cooking because I wasn't exagerating. Here was our menu: chicken, steak, sausage kabobs with mixed vegetable, dutch oven potatoes, and apple crisp using the dutch oven. Chicken fajitas with dutch oven peach cobbler. Egg burritos, pancakes, and bacon. Okay, enough about the food. I guess you can guess my favorite part about the trip.
Keaton and Xander had a blast playing in the sand and water all day long. Sat. night the boys even got a bath. Because of the sand and sun the boys had little bumps on parts of their body. So Chris came up with this idea to help there bodies heal quickly. We had a big plastic container holding some of our camping gear and he emptied it out and put warm water in it. Xander loved the bath and was very upset getting out. It turned out to be the community bath for the kids that night. Too bad I was too big for it, bummer.
